Fair Warning
Buying a production line bass off the shelf and having one built to your design are two
completely different worlds. With an off the shelf bass you take it home that day or
you have it shipped to you in a matter of days. With a custom build, first you have to
design it and figure out all of the features you want and then you have to wait for it
to get built. Construction times vary greatly due to the complexity of the instrument
and wood, component choices as some woods can be difficult to obtain and some parts
may take a long time to come in. The other major difference is the price. Custom basses
can get expensive, especially if you want the most exotic woods and the most high end
hardware.
